A Young Woman’s Irresponsible Drinking Leads To a DWI, Mental Health Concerns, Depression, Time Locked Up In Jail, and Relationship Problems

Jesse had a very difficult time keeping a job. If truth be told, due to her laziness and lack of drive, she was out of a job far more often than she was in a state of employment. And when she did land a job, she had a particularly hard time getting to work in a timely manner, she often got less than positive performance evaluations, and she called off sick so frequently that she typically got fired four or five weeks after she started working. To no one’s surprise, one of the results of Jesse’s less than optimal work track record was the fact that she was virtually penniless from day-to-day.

Despite Jesse’s less than stellar work track record and financial lack of attention, on the other hand, somehow she made it a point to drink in a hazardous and abusive manner most of the time.  Not surprisingly, her abusive and excessive drinking also resulted in a host of relationship issues over the years.

Based on her hazardous and excessive drinking, it came as no big surprise when Jesse received a second DWI. When she went to court, the judge told Jesse that her alcohol-related behavior was irresponsible and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve seven months behind bars.

Time In Jail To Think About The Damaging Consequences of Abusive Drinking

During her time while locked up in jail, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the negative consequences of irresponsible drinking, and she was required to get alcohol treatment. The magistrate stressed the fact that unless Jesse receives professional alcohol counseling and discovers how to live an alcohol-free life, she will most probably be spending a lot more time in jail.

Jesse said that she understood what the magistrate was proclaiming but she still believed that placement in the county jail was not the right decision. The magistrate saw things in an entirely different way and stated that it was his job to keep alcoholics off the streets who drive under the influence and who get arrested for a DWI. To give credibility to this assertion, the magistrate quoted some long-standing, highly researched alcohol statistics that underscored some of the negative outcomes that are related to hazardous and irresponsible drinking.

Although Jesse comprehended that she drank irresponsibly, she never thought that she was alcohol dependent. So it was a real shocker when Jesse began experiencing symptoms of alcohol withdrawal just about four hours after going to jail.

To manage her alcohol withdrawals in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was transferred to a rehab facility for alcohol detox and then returned to the city jail. While locked up in the local jail Jesse was given a assessment for her depression and was given alcohol rehabilitation but due to the fact that she received this counseling as something that was imposed upon her, she did not take ownership of her hazardous and excessive drinking.

When her time behind bars was finished, the judge without vacillation announced to Jesse that she would be under rigorous surveillance and would be mandated to take periodic blood alcohol tests.

Jessie’s Abusive Drinking Stops Her From Living in a Responsible and Productive Manner

After hearing how Jesse failed to take ownership of her drinking problem and how she unwillingly followed the rehab modus operandi while in the municipal jail, the judge knew that it was essentially a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her hazardous drinking behavior. As the magistrate thought about Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some people never use common sense and discover how to live in an accountable and productive manner.

Top Management Starts Quite a Few Programs To Cut The Costs Correlated With Poor Employee Work Performance, Increasing Absenteeism, Employee Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, Excessive Sick Days, and Work Related Injuries

Heather is a fifty-eight-year-old woman who is the top administrator in the human resources department at a large electropolishing company. To help diminish the costs linked to employee and , poor employee work performance, work related injuries, excessive sick days, and increasing absenteeism, Heather and the other company administrators launched quite a few programs that made the work environment considerably more safe, healthy, and more productive.

For example, fifteen years ago Heather and the other members of top management put into operation an Employee’s Assistance Program so that all the workers had access to quality psychological counseling for their personal problems that could unfavorably affect their work performance, personal well being, and their health.

The Company Executives Construct a Technologically Advanced Workout and Exercise Room Complete With a Personal Trainer During Business Hours, Scales, Exercise Equipment, Weights, Mirrors, and Exercise Charts

As another illustration, around eight-and-a-half years ago Heather and the other members of top management built a forward-looking exercise and workout room complete with weights, many different types of exercise equipment, exercise charts, scales, mirrors, and a personal trainer during business hours.

Moreover, approximately three-and-a-half years ago Heather and the other members of upper management invested in a purification system that filters all the water that is obtainable all through the main building. In a similar manner, two years ago, Heather and the other company executives started a “walking club” that targets employees who want to further develop their cardiovascular system.

Upper Management Implements a Weight-Watchers Class and Signs Up a Weight-Loss Nurse to Supervise the Program

As another illustration, just about two years ago, Heather and the other company executives launched a “Weight-Watchers” class that presently meets every weekday at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Moreover, the company executives signed up a weight-loss healthcare professional to manage the program.

Similarly, a year-and-a-half ago Heather and the other company administrators implemented a “Stop Smoking Club” for employers who want to stop smoking.

In the last eleven months, in a joint venture with the Employee’s Assistance Program, Heather and the other company executives launched an “Anger Management” class for employees who want to learn how to better cope with their anger issues.

The VIPs Establish a Program

In the last four-and-a-half months, Heather and the other members of upper management put into operation a alcohol and drug testing program that is associated with their drug and prevention program. In fact, Heather is the main person in the company responsible for getting the message out to all the workers about the program as well as the drug and prevention program.

One of the main components of the drug and prevention program is a class entitled “ and Depression” that meets every Thursday after work. The primary idea with this class is informing employees that excessive drinking and depression frequently occur in the same person. It is hoped that understanding this information will be able to help an individual address both medical issues and get the alcohol rehab and counseling he or she requires.

The VIPs Establish an and Facts Class

Another relatively recent addition to the drug and prevention program is a class entitled “ and Facts.” The reasoning behind this alcohol statistics facts class is the reality that quite a few people are unsuccessful in their attempt to understand the full impact of the results of and without first getting exposed to some of the and facts and statistics that are available. As a consequence, one of the goals of this class is to provide a mixture of and statistics and facts to help employees gain a better realization of the multitude of difficulties that are related to irresponsible and hazardous drinking and how they can avert these problems from occurring.

Most recently, Heather and the other company leaders, via suggestions from employees, started a class that focuses directly on severe drinking entitled “What is ”? This class meets every Monday morning a half hour before work and focuses essentially on the differences between and , on the stages of alcoholism, and on the kinds of rehabilitation that are available for people who have alcohol drinking problems such as people who drink in an abusive manner.

Although each and every one of these preventative maintenance and health programs was anything but low-cost, the company leaders believe that they are many thousands of dollars ahead by providing all of their employees with a healthy, more productive, and safe work atmosphere.
