How to Build an Acne Diet
Being on an acne diet is a very fascinating idea. Most importantly, who hasn’t heard that eating chocolate gives you zits? We almost all have. So instead of causing a break out, you could prevent it by watching what you eat.
Although creating a good acne diet can be very hard. Its very personal because it has to be based on an individuals responses to food. There are rules to follow, but progress is usually by trial and error. Observe and make note of any changes in your skin. Keep a journal. You could even take pictures a few times a week. If and when your acne diminishes stick to the diet plan you are on at the time.
The following guidelines can help get you started on an acne diet:
* Take in a lot more protein - Some dermatologists believe that protein is correlated with cleared skin. An enzyme in contained in protein limits the creation of oil If you have oily skin, you know that it is very vulnerable to breakouts.
* Stay away from carbohydrates. - Don’t cut yourself off completely. However, you do need to limit them to about 40 percent of your diet. Carbohydrates contain compounds that stimulate oil production. This is why so many people think that junk food causes acne. In reality junk food just has a high carb content.
* Green tea is a must - Drinking the real stuff is the best. The kind of green tea that you brew is the best kind. You may not like the real stuff so the green tea drinks will work. Green tea holds back androgen production. Androgen is a hormone that will wreak havoc on your skin.
* You must restrict the amount of salt you take in - Most salt contains iodine. This is why table salt is usually called “iodized salt.” Of course for some people with acne, iodine can cause big breakouts.
You must watch your diet and what you put on your face. If you have acne you are probably already more aware than most people of the ingredients in your beauty products. Natural and organic skin care lines are the best acne prone skin. Products containing natural ingredients will least likely irritate your skin. Consider switching over to mineral makeup. If you want to enhance your acne diet and reduce breakouts, you may want to try mineral makeup.
